Your Experienced Audiologist, Dr. Bea Smith

Bea Smith, Au.D. FAAA, an Ohio native, graduated with honors with an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a minor in Special Education in 2005 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Dr. Bea graduated with her master’s and doctorate in Audiology from Indiana University in 2008.

Bea has worked at 2 top 10 children’s hospitals in the country and with an array of children with different diseases and abilities. She does research in hearing, genetics, as well as cancer and chemotherapy, and, along with her research partner, pioneered a drug to block the harmful effects of chemotherapy on hearing in certain brain cancer patients.

Bea has multiple published works and speaks at national and international conferences about hearing and her research. She has extensive experience with hearing aids and with patients of all ages and abilities. She is a former specialist at a hearing aid company, where she taught ENTs and Audiologists to better serve their patients for the best
treatment outcomes all over the country.

In her free time, Bea volunteers as a foster mom for a local dog rescue and has fostered over 200 dogs and puppies since starting in late 2020.

Dr. Bea loves to travel, work on home improvement projects, and spend time with her dogs, Hazel and Pfeiffer
